Museum School Turtle


In addition to its well-known preschool program, Museum School also offers many engaging learning opportunities for school-age children. These informal, discovery-based classes feature various science and history topics enriched with Museum specimens and artifacts where appropriate, creative activities, science investigations and other hands-on explorations. 

The spring school-age program includes Saturday classes for children in kindergarten through 6th grade, and classes for preschool children age 3, 4 and 5 with a favorite adult. Friday classes are offered for children in 1st through 6th grade (age 6 – 11) who are homeschooled or attend an abbreviated- week school program. Homeschool students may also  enroll in Saturday Museum School classes in their current grade level.

The rolling loop projector--the heart of the IMAX film system--was invented in the 1960's by Ron Jones, a machinist and camera builder from Brisbane, Australia.
