The OMNI sound system has 50 speakers, driven by 8 amplifiers that produce over 24,000 watts of sound through 6 channels and a giant sub-bass stack to give the audience that “you are there” feeling.
iMake: Maker Fest
Join us for this fantastic festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and celebrate the Maker Movement.
Here are just a few of the experiences planned:
Local Makers: Check out the inventive, creative and resourceful Makers in the Inventor Studio.
Spin Art: Create artistic patterns with simple circuits.
Cardboard Constructions: Design and craft your very own cardboard creation.
Bling it!: Design wearable art.
Just for Educators: Stop by our Teacher’s Lounge on Saturday from 10 am - 2 pm.
3D Printers: Hot-glue guns on steroids.
Electronics Dissection: You never know what you will find inside broken electronics.
Kinetic Light Sculptures: Explore light, shadow, and motion using simple materials and light sources.
Chain Reactions: Construct a Rube Goldberg inspired contraption from everyday materials and found objects with other museum guests.
Operation Catapult: Build a catapult at home or at the museum and join us in the Atrium Saturday at 1:30 for a group launch. For more information download the PDF.
Stellar Creations: Come make your own constellations with Noble Planetarium staff
Extend your iMake experience - Come to a Star Party!
Join the Noble Planetarium staff and members of the Fort Worth Astronomical Society for our free monthly Star Party. You’ll find plenty of telescopes for viewing and even more astronomy buffs to help you navigate your way through the skies. The party begins at dusk in the Museum’s South Parking lot, weather permitting, and lasts until approximately 10:30 p.m.
All activities are included with exhibit admission.
