Dia de los Ninos/Dia de los Libros

Let the Celebration Begin with Free Admission!
Tuesday, April 30, 2013
3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Museum will celebrate Día de los Niños/ Día de los Libros in the Innovation Gallery and Studios Tuesday April 30, 2013 from 3pm to 5pm.

Día de los Ninos is a nationwide initiative that promotes the importance of child literacy and celebrates culture, heritage and language. The initiative originated from Children’s Day, which first took place in Geneva in 1925 following the World Conference for the Well-being of Children. Día de Los Ninos is supported by the idea that children from every background deserve to learn through methods that respect their culture and language.

Children who attend will also be able to enjoy fun activities such as face painting, live animal demonstrations, creating baleros (cup-and-ball toys), designing celebration hats, launching their own flying contraptions, piñata festivities and storytelling.

All activities are included with paid admission to the Museum. In celebration of Día de los Niños, children’s tickets will be free from 3pm to 5pm.  Guests will also be able to experience Flight of the Butterflies in the Omni IMAX Theater for a general admission price of $3.00 at 3:25pm and 4:30pm.

Fun Fact
The Museum's Noble Planetarium was the first planetarium to be named after a female astronomer, Charlie Mary Noble, a Fort Worth educator of math and astronomy.
