COME SEE WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS MONTH!
The school year may be winding down, but
the adventure is just getting started! Come see
"Seeing" in ExploraZone
and other favorite exhibits at the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, our temporary home during construction.
NOW YOU SEE IT, NOW YOU DON’T
ExploraZone: See It Through May 26
Don’t miss "Seeing" in ExploraZone before it departs. These fun components from San Francisco’s famed Exploratorium provide insight to how the eye and brain function together and determine what we see – or
think we see! See it, along with KIDSPACE,
Hands On
Studio, and our Preview
Center, through May 26 on the first floor of the National Cowgirl Museum.
Round Up Some Dinosaur Fun
Beginning June 7, look for our new
Dinosaur Roundup
for a chance to get your hands on some Cretaceous fun and learn about our rich prehistoric past. Be on the lookout for more information soon about this new summer exhibit, a member sneak preview on June 6, and our plans for a special Dino-Mite Weekend in July.
WATCH OUR CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS
ON THE LIVE WEBCAM
Log onto our
live construction webcam and follow our progress as we build a new museum for the future! Here’s what you’re likely to see
in May:
- Completion of staining on the exterior of the Omni Theater;
- Steel framework erected for the Children’s Museum, Museum School and energy gallery areas of the new building;
- Our
first new exhibit component, a vibroseis truck,
scheduled to be lifted into the energy gallery area. Due to the size of the vehicle, it must be placed inside the gallery before the steel for the gallery can be erected!

Although not visible from the webcam, renovation of the Omni IMAX® Theater is moving closer to completion. Speakers for the theater’s new digital sound system have been installed and work on the
"Link" continues. The Omni will reopen later this summer with giant-screen adventures
Dinosaurs
Alive!, Deep
Sea, and Mummies: Secrets of the
Pharaohs. The opening date will be announced soon.

HELP US CHOOSE A TITLE FOR A FUTURE
EXHIBIT
The Museum of Science and History is developing a new
traveling children's exhibit that will explore principles and concepts of balance in everyday life. Created for children ages 5-12 and their families, the exhibit will present a playful environment that will capture
your imagination through different forms of balance in physics, science and architecture. It will debut in the new Museum of Science and History facility in fall 2009 then travel to children’s museums across the country.
We need your help in selecting a title! We invite you to learn more about the exhibit and give us your opinions on the exhibit’s title by taking a very short
online
survey. We appreciate your feedback.
